A ROOM WITH A VIEW CIRCA 2016 – ANNA-LOUISE MILNE
KR SALON PARIS
31 March 2016
We invite you to the first KR Paris Salon this year which will take place at the wonderful Berkeley Books of Paris (8 Rue Casimir Delavigne, 75006 Paris) on Thursday March 31st at 19:00.
We are very happy to welcome Anna-Louise Milne from the University of London Institution in Paris, who will talk on the subject of migrant writing and the literatures and expression coming out of the migration crisis.
Here is what you can expect:
What sort of perspectives can we get today on the tangle of forces converging in our globalized urban centres – where should we go to see the city today? This question was part of the impetus for the project that became a book entitled 75. But that impetus was also simply an encounter, which led to other encounters. And it was also a decision to write in a language learnt in order to make a life in Paris. Reflecting on the intersection of these three processes in the elaboration of this book project, Anna-Louise Milne will discuss the notion of migrant writing as a mode of expression at the crossroads between physical displacement and poetic exploration.
